Intro to Musical Improv, Thursdays @ 6:30p (2026-4A)

***Pre-requisite Third Coast Improv Level 3***

Discover the joy of musical improv in this 4-week intro class at Third Coast Comedy Club. These four weeks will introduce students to simple song structure, the basics of rhyming and melody, how to create a great chorus, and how and when to go from scene to song. No musical experience is required but students should have a strong grasp of improv fundamentals.

Intro to Musical Improv is a requirement for the Musical Improv Program.

Intro to Musical Improv is perfect for students interested in dabbling in musical improv or those seeking admission to the Musical Improv Program. At the end of this class, each student will receive notification on whether they are approved to sign up for Musical Improv 1. If not approved, students will receive a copy of the rubric guiding these decisions, along with areas for growth to work on should they be interested in continuing. Intro to Musical Improv can be taken multiple times.

• Students receive free admission to most improv shows at the theater all session long.
